The New Black Industries project involved temporarily relocating their existing salon to a neighbouring tenancy and demolish of the original site for a complete fitout of a brand new salon.

Skelcon put together a thorough plan to accommodate the clients priority of not enduring any trade down time for the salon. For this, we worked out of hours and kept a clear, open line of communication throughout the entire project. We ensured their clients were not deprived of a positive experience with The New Black Industries and upheld their reputation for top customer service.

The aesthetic was sleek and modern, with a priority on functionality and comfort. It was important to strike a perfect balance of a clean, safe and sanitary space, while also creating a cosy and comfortable environment for their clients. We were able to achieve this salon fitout within their budget and 12 week timeframe. They were able to successfully continue business throughout the whole construction period and return to their new premises seamlessly.

A head above the rest

The New Black had already carved out a reputation for being highly skilled, industry leaders who are modern, on-trend and ahead of the curve. It was important to them to be working in a space that adequately demonstrated this upon first entering their salon. They had a very clear design vision and we worked closely with them to provide a salon that was unique, interesting and comfortable, while also entirely functional. They didn’t want to look like just any salon, it was a project that worked from a concise design concept from the client, and then our expertise successfully created a real life space that spoke to their vision and the wants and needs of their clients.

Working around the business

To ensure The New Black could continue working without interrupting trade, we worked with them to troubleshoot problems for all solutions and come back to the table with the ideal arrangement. For this project, it was best to opt for a temporary relocation, and the bulk of construction to occur outside of trading hours. We were more than happy to oblige and, in doing so, had a happy client throughout the process as well as the end result. This arrangement did not hinder our ability to work on budget or within the timeframe, and we were able to ensure their clients weren’t negatively affected by the salon fitout.
